I like it! TIME magazine online just did a little article on how gapped teeth are the new trend at this years New York Fashion Week. That gapped teeth were actually listed as coveted attributes in model casting calls. Damn! Why wasn’t this en vogue when I was growing up! Instead I got ridiculed for the large space I was donning. It was huge! I’m talking about enough space for an additional tooth. Someone once referred to my teeth as the Twin Towers. That hurt. Now after many trips to the orthodontist in my late teen years the space between my two front teeth is drastically smaller. I didn’t let them close the gap entirely, it felt too much a part of my identity, but I did let them work some magic. Glad to see the fashion world embracing “imperfections”. I mean I’m in pretty great company: Madonna, Letterman, Lauren Hutton to name a few!

Meet Freja Beha, a foxy Danish model who’s been on the scene since 2005. She’s my new obsession because of her current hair style. I love love love it! So much so I think I may cut bangs (fringe) and go for this look. You likey?

UPDATE: Since posting earlier today I have scheduled a hair appointment for tomorrow…IM DOING IT!

I woke up feeling a little under the weather today but I have no time for that…got a busy day ahead. So I walked Hayden, showered and dressed. My outfit felt blah, just a white loose tank and jean shorts. Pulled my hair back and thought “I feel like red lips today!” I never rock the red in the daytime but today I felt like going for it. Why not? And you know what…It did the trick I tell ya! It bumped up my look and made me feel bright and cheery. Having a blah day? Try a red lip, let me know how it goes.

Just got back from an amazing week in Portland, Maine. What a beautiful place. I was there styling the Holiday 2010 print/video campaign for aerie. It was gorgeous, peaceful and the food was delish (the lobster to die for!) I really feel in love.

Our shooting crew had a lot of new faces this time around and they were all just darling. I’m very fortunate to work with such fabulous people. (here’s a pic of me and my girl Natalie, who I got to hire as my assistant, it was too fun)

We shot on a working farm by the beach and the prop stylist and I were almost charged by a mama cow but that’s a whole other story Check out my photos below, campaign pics to come in October…ever been to Maine? What’s your story…

Damien and I are very fortunate to live across the street from the coolest man alive. His name is Harry. He’s 89. Today he took us to fly kites, that he made. Yeah, he’s that rad.

Damien and I had the honor and pleasure of attending the wedding of two dear friends this weekend. It was on Saturday in Santa Barbara and instead of just driving in for the day we decided to make a weekend out of it. So glad we did. It was a glorious 3 days filled with yummy food, long walks and massages hooray! Plus a gorgeous wedding on a stunning ranch. Oh and did I mention it was a black tie affair? A first for me which made for a fabulous gown shopping adventure. The bride is a designer for Joie and designed her gown plus all the bridesmaid dresses; they were spectacular…what great wedding! Here are some photos from the weekend. Funny how with all the advance camera technology these days I opt for the “Vintage Camera” app on boyfriend’s cell phone.

One of my favorite actresses of all time is Cate Blanchett (did you see ‘Notes On A Scandal’? I mean, come on!). She’s a classic beauty who embodies her characters flawlessly. She makes it look so easy, as all great actors should. I strive to be as good an actress as Cate and recently read something that made me very happy. Cate enjoys making lists and crossing items off as she accomplishes them. No shit?! That’s what I do! Yes, I know lots of people make list but I’m obsessed! Its really the only way I can get things done. I will actually write something down I’ve already done, just so I can feel the gratification of crossing it out! I obviously have a problem, but who cares…so does Cate. And I’ve convinced myself that its this similarity between Cate Blanchett and me, that will one day win me an Oscar. (Or at least have me nominated for one!) A ha! I crack myself up.

5 years ago I did one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life…I adopted my pooch Hayden. This little guy is so sweet and always makes me smile. I’m a very lucky gal. Here he is at our neighborhood dog park. Doesn’t it look like he’s smiling?  I guess I make him happy too!
